FKCCI give a brief account on the Energy Consumed by the Industrial Sector in comparison with the total energy consumption in the state and requested for giving relief by reducing the electricity tax from 9% to 3% among other suggestions.

Shri B V Gopal Reddy, President, FKCCI participated in the High-level Interactive Meeting which was specially convened by Shri K J George, Hon’ble Minister for Energy, Shri M B Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Commerce and Industry at Conference Room, Vidhana Soudha today, to discuss the Energy Issues faced by the industries. Shri M G Balakrishna, Vice President and Shri M G Prabhakar, Advisor, Energy Committee participated in the high-level meeting which was attended by Mr. Gaurav Gupta, IAS, ACS Energy Department, Dr. S Selvakumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, C&I Department, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, IAS, MD – KPTCL, Mr. Mahantesh Bilagi, IAS, MD – BESCOM, MD – HESCOM and other Senior Officials. Various Industry Bodies and Association from all over Karnataka also participated in the meeting.

The views of all the industry bodies and associations was also heard by the Ministers and Government was very positive in understanding the problems of the industry. The Hon’ble Ministers assured that they would consider the submissions made by the members and will discuss immediately with the Hon’ble Chief Minister for giving suitable relief to the industries.
